A child life specialist brought Nathan an Ipad to play with this morning before his surgery. All the kids here love to play with the talking Copy-Cat. It repeats everything that you say to it.
We have learned from hysterical experience, that drawing the curtain around the patient does not ensure audible privacy. So Copy-Cat became the farting kitty, the whiny kitty, and the belching kitty. [The noises weren't all too different coming from the teenager's Ipad across the room, so I can't even blame it on his age.]
It almost seems ironic that I'm sitting in a hospital waiting for my child to have surgery when I heard the news about the state of healthcare in our country! My stomach was turning as I was watching the Supreme Court decision to uphold Obamacare this morning. What a blow to every American and their right to make their own choices. Obama said it wasn't going to be a tax. Guess what? It is--as per Justice John Roberts, himself. On a personal flash of insight, I'm beginning to see why our family's personal medical needs have been escalated into hyper-drive. No doubt, there is an unseen, but definitely a felt, hand of providence helping guide our choices right now. We still have the luxury of private insurance and the freedom of choice for our major medical decisions...at least for one more year. Our country has been sold down the road of entitlements. It's the age-old childish complaint of "That's not fair!" Well, guess what! Big government is here to help.
The politicians have found every possible way to insert their greedy hands into our financial pockets to lull us into thinking that they are just leveling the playing field. But WHO is really paying for the 53% of Americans on food stamps? WHO is paying the social security benefits of the elderly who could never have paid in enough to sufficiently support themselves into their elongated retirement years? WHO pays the pensions and retirement plans of the union and government employees that were ROBBED of those funds by negligent union investors and officials? (And the government decries corporate greed. What about their own greed?) WHO scrambles to find a way to pay increasing interest rates and costly property taxes? WHO are the ones paying with their homes for corrupt government housing programs and TARP bail outs? (Don't even get me started on how increasing taxes can ruin your hard-earned equity, deflate your home values and selling potential; then increase your property taxes without warning and then drop the value out of the bottom and make the majority of homeowners ineligible for lower interest rates. Absolutely NO government loan modication programs are qualifiable or even helpful when your home has no reasonable appraised value brought on by a national mortgage crisis!) And the sick and twisted part of the whole nightmare that no one talks about-is what if you are forced to dump the house or can no longer afford it? You get to take all that negative equity and count it as "income" and you then pay TAXES on it to the self-serving government. However you slice the pie, the government NEVER loses and always gets the biggest piece!
I'm beginning to understand why people have willingly opted for the road to slavery--not being coerced, but lured by flaxen cords of hopeful promises and sweet lies. [And let's be honest--Who doesn't want a break from the weight of financial responsibilities and be given "free" stuff?] But it's NEVER free. Somebody paid for it. It's our job to figure out why somebody wanted us to have it without paying for it. Who is the slave and who is the master? Nevermind the broken and corrupt means of penalizing the families that are honestly working their butts off to stay afloat. I know that it's probably by design, but there are few tax breaks for the working class. We pay for our healthcare and we pay for everyone else's healthcare! I have deductibles and co-pays. Those I help pay for don't. Sounds fair, right? And what does the government do with the money they collect in the form of taxes? Bail out unions that have unethically squandered peoples' money and retirements away; fund and arm extremist minorities with vendettas against our way of life; creates companies engaged in money laundering scams to support known false government programs and entities, and so on. Everyone should have an education on who Eric Holder is and how his participation in "Fast and Furious" is nothing but a willful subterfuge that could destroy our 2nd amendment rights.
And what does the government think of the taxpaying citizens? They see the people as needy, UNABLE to govern themselves, in need of their omniscient hand in our schools (way to go GE and and the bogus green movement!), our bedrooms (birth control--as if we didn't know how to prevent pregnancy and disease! And if you don't--we have a "free" plan for everyone!), and--OOPS! Almost forgot--our kitchens (Thanks, Michelle, for dictating to us what we can and cannot eat! A special Thank you goes to New York for setting another example of how to tax beverage size choice. And let's not forget Mr Obama for turning the hypocritic pleasure of eating an ice cream sundae into a teaching moment for the American people!).
Does anyone even remember that Mr Obama has increased the national debt threefold of what the first 41 presidents combined did? He has definitely created a legacy of shackles...seeing that my children's children will still be paying for my parent's generation. [And on another hot topic: How he can even support abortion is beyond me, when he NEEDS any and all people possible to become drones to support this dying economy and to pay for the escalating national debt!]
And what do we get in the meantime? More Taxes. More Oppression. More Tyrannical laws. As if we are unable to make good choices or know what's good for us! They have the power to justify the need to raise the tax burden on every American to the point that when you cannot pay--they take your house, your investments and any hope of retirement. And, with today's decision, now freedom of choice in your healthcare is bypassed because of a vote taken among NINE people. Somehow, I don't think that this is how the founding fathers saw the function of the most supreme court in the land ruling. I think it should be taken to the people, who will actually be living with the effects of this new law and taxation! This is not a conversative or liberal notion. As if political titles create a preconceived notion of what I really believe or want. People actually think that "liberal" means all accepting, for the people, hope and change. What a crock!
Thank God people are starting to wake up to the fiery pits that are being prepared for them. I can only imagine the chaos that will ensue when when healthcare providers, that were once able to heal the broken and cure the unfortunate, tell the mother of a sick child that nothing can be done for them. The government-grown "entitlement" mentality will not go away passively. People will rise up and start to see that they voted themselves into a prison of their own doing; a forced labor camp, if you will. What then?
I have a friend with juvenile arthritis and having to choose between home ownership and the cost of care for her child has become a very real possibility. What about the people that are on expensive chemotherapy, waiting for miracle drugs, to prolong their lives? Many of them will NOT be adequately covered under the new healthcare laws because the necessary treatment plans are deemed too costly. And we thought that Obama would save us all! (Sounds just like what the old-timers thought about Roosevelt...and that should put some fear in us, if you know anything about history!) It's starting to sound more and more like slow and selective care, if not population control. Germany 1933, ring a bell?
What amazes me is the total lack of memory on the part of the country to what Obama promised in 2008/2009, stating that the new healthcare laws would not be a tax. Hold that up to what the Supreme Court ruled today, in 2012. Sold! And guess what? It's a tax. We didn't even have to read it to know what that meant. More money, more slavery to the machine. The noose has been tightened. And it will further divide the people into the "haves" and the "have nots"-so that greed and envy will further drive the politicians to create mass "equality" amongst everyone. Now that healthcare is in the handbasket, what's next? Wasn't that Lucifer's plan? "And not one of them will be lost and all the glory be mine." Yep. I think we have a new Son of the Morning following notes from a former game play. We revoked it once before...I just hope we have the insight and spiritual memory to revoke it again. What will be next? Value the freedoms we have left, right? I hope America wakes up before it's too late.
Till then--we've got to get our boys fixed before they become just a number in the system and help is not an option they are given!
