Jessica has a little friend in her kindergarten class that lives just a couple of houses down from us. Hailey is over quite a bit. With the cooler weather, we have graduated from the dirt pile and tonkas into the house. Our house is a craft haven and war command center, depending on your gender. But a new game that was introduced by the aforementioned friend is "Fashion Models". Umm. Yep. That's a new one for this family. We've done dress-ups, babies, tea party, Mommy--you name it.
But fashion models? Ooh. How do you play that when you're just 5? You and your friend try on every dress in your closet--then head to the bathroom to work on your hair.
It's all about the HAIR, or so I was informed. It was amazing how well-braided piggies worked to Jessica's advantage today. Poor Hailey had to use a hair accessory to create "volume". I had a visionary mom-moment and saw her as a teenager with BIG hair telling me that she was listening to the "oldies"--you know, like Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, and Aerosmith--the HAIR BANDS.
I just want the childhood to last a little longer. I love the innocence, the cute smiles, the total willingness to show affection and be honest. Jessica encapsulates joy, love, and pure energy. Listening to her now is a little like listening to a teenager because she idolizes her sister and loves everything that Ashley loves. Jessica's favorite song: My Life would SUCK without You by Kelly Clarkson. Is that normal?
