Locks of Love

Before.....

Today was Jessica's second haircut. She's five and half and had some gorgeous blond hair, but it was getting out of control! It was almost down to her bum and she didn't like to comb it...which presented certain problems for Mom. (I have this thing about my kids hair looking "put together." When that doesn't happen--it's time for a change). School starts in a few short weeks and the our baby has come into her own. She needed a wash and wear "do" that causes Mom minimum fuss. At Jessica's first haircut--about 2 years ago, she donated 11 inches of her beautiful blond hair to the Locks of Love foundation. http://www.locksoflove.org/ This organization makes hairpieces for financially disadvantaged children who have lost their hair, usually due to a medical condition or alapecia.
After.......
So Jessica did something very nice today again with her long hair. She donated another 11 inches to the Locks of Love, for a grand total of 22 inches. She helped another child in need, soothed her mother's frazzled nerves, and still came out as one the cutest kids--ever!! The short bob is as adorable as she is. And we were able to teach a valuable lesson about charity no matter the situation. I think that it's important for children to realize the consequences of their choices, for bad and for good. Today there are some great consequences and Jessica is loving the new look as well.
