When Grandma comes to visit......

My mom comes to visit every 2-3 months. I love it. We get to go out to lunch (almost everyday), shop a little, work on projects, see a movie or two, and the best--just visit. Grandma usually brings a book and plants herself at the end of the table for a couple hours at a time. On this visit from October 2009, Grandma stopped a minute at the insistence of Jessica. Jessica wanted Grandma to show her how to play the family favorite--Boggle. Little did Jessica know--you have to know how to read and spell to capture the essense of this game. But Grandma took a few minutes and helped her arrange words with the letter cubes from the game. Jessica was extremely pleased with herself that she was "winning"--rather ironically, don't you think? The bigger kids mocked her that she couldn't win if she couldn't spell--but that's not what Grandma told Jessica. They had a great time at the table that afternoon. What a treasured memory this will be for little Jessica as she gets older, knowing that her Grandma loved her and wanted to spend time with her.
